Client Brief

Emap Ltd is a B2B media group that focuses on five main verticals - construction, retail, media, automotive and public sector. Chillisauce were asked to tender for the Sustainable Communities awards evening for local government (LGC) and Health (HSJ) trade magazines.
The brief not only required us to create an event that was sustainable and in keeping with the agenda of the awards but design a creative way in which the whole audience understood where the finalists and projects are based.

They had a limited budget and we had to create an awards lunch the following day for a totally different industry (Ground Engineering) within this budget.

Chillisauces Thinking

Chillisauce undertook a rigorous tender process and successfully secured the contract with our sustainable but sophisticated stage set & design, creative presentations and innovative ideas using reusable resources through the awards evening.

Chillisauce proposed an interactive presentation that included an animated map to display the locations of the entrants and winners in order to demonstrate the national and local feel of the work carried out. This also allowed all attendees to have some form of engagement with each project and gave finalists the recognition they deserved.

There were 650 guests on the first night and a quick turn around for the next lunch times event for 400 guests. Chillisauce created a set that was made from reused materials with a slick design that would give sophistication to the lunch time awards required.

The Finer Details

From the start Chillisauce worked closely with Emap to create imaginative animated presentations, suggested stings that suited the demographics of the audience. Graphics and lighting set the right mood and atmosphere for the event.
The Sustainable Communities award graphics were printed onto 100% recycled cardboard using UV free inks. The lectern was made from 100% recycled cardboard which would all be recycled after the event. Reusable wood was used to create the stage and set and LED lights were used around the room where possible.
The chosen venue, The Brewery is a sustainable conference centre using only locally organic produced foods, LED lights around the whole building and using reusable energy where possible.
Chillisauce managed all live aspects from the AV production, lighting, set design and stage, graphics, presentation, MC, Live video footage and edit, running order and entertainment required.
